The tablecloth was selected for casual but special family occasions. After the first laundering and quick press, the tablecloth was ready for another occasion!. I did place an under fabric beneath for a soft surface. It lays flat and works beautifully !

I am a big fan of linen in general and consider myself a bit of a connoisseur at this point! I've actually ordered a linen tablecloth before from this brand in their plain natural linen color and have loved it. So, I had high expectations when ordering this checkered one.I chose the "Black & White - Glen Check" color and it is a beautiful combination that would look nice for a rustic table setting, perhaps for Halloween. It's fairly true to the description photos and the glen check weave really showcases the natural texture and qualities of the linen. Linen tends to wrinkle and gives a very casual feel; it fits well with my rustic/southwestern decor. I ordered the 144" x 60" size for my large aspen wood dining room table and it fits well.But, I have a gripe with the finishing. My initial tablecloth from Solino was beautifully finished with 2" hems on all sides and cleanly sewn mitered corners. This tablecloth has 1" hems with mitered corners but they weirdly attached 2" panels to each of the two lengths that they serged to the main piece of fabric. This leaves strange and unnecessary seaming and they attempted to pattern-match the checked pattern with varying results. Did they run out of fabric and need to piece this tablecloth together to make up the difference in size? I'm so puzzled by this construction choice!This tablecloth has some nice qualities but lacks the refinement and attention to detail I expected from Solino Home.
