Our Favourite PB&J Recipes - Plus Some Pretty Wild Ones!

Our Favourite PB&J Recipes - Plus Some Pretty Wild Ones!

What’s more American than peanut butter and jelly sandwiches? It was even part of the US military’s rations list during WW2.

So on April 2nd, here at Solino Home, we will definitely be celebrating National PB&J Day.

To do that we’ll be choosing to cook from some of our favourite PB&J recipes. There are an amazing number of yummy foodstuffs you can create with that basic combination of sweetness (jelly) and saltiness (peanut butter). And here are five of those fab breakfast, brunch and snack ideas below.

Before that though, check out our gorgeous Solino Home table linens, such as table runners, table cloths, napkins and place mats. Use them to beautifully present your PB&J goodies. All our linen items are produced from 100% natural linen and can be machine washed. Choose from a wide range of neutral or jewel color shades and patterns.

1 Peanut butter and jelly French toast

It takes just 20 minutes to get this hot brunch baby on the table from start to finish. The bread used is thick Brioche, and you’ll also need some cinnamon, a handful of berries and some maple syrup to drip over. Continue to the bottom of the link for the ingredients and method. Then enjoy. We have!

2 Peanut butter and jelly cupcakes

These delicious PB&J cupcakes are courtesy of Lindsey on her Honey Blonde blog. Again, there is nothing complicated about putting these sweet treats together. They take 25 minutes and all you’ll need is a vanilla cake mix. Oh, and some peanut butter powder.

3 Superfood peanut butter and jelly cups

Yes, you read that right – it does say ‘superfood.’ And that means these tasty little treats are actually a little good for you too! How so? Well, they contain that magical ingredient folks have been talking about for some time now – the goji berry. In terms of ingredients there might be quite a few things you don’t already have in your pantry, such as coconut oil, hemp hearts and chia seeds. If you’ve got a sweet tooth then we’re guessing you already have the two ounces of dark or milk chocolate in your cupboard.

4 Peanut butter and jelly granola bars

Staying with the healthy theme, these PB&J granola bars are perfect for taking with you when going out on a hike, cycle or run. That’s because they provide quick energy but without the huge sugar spike (thanks to the oats and dried fruits). Pantry staples you might have to buy are coconut flakes and nuts.

5 Peanut butter and jelly fudge

Who else but, all American domestic icon Martha Stewart, would come up with the idea of these pretty little floral nibbles? Vanilla extract and light corn syrup are the extra ingredients you might have to buy but everything else will be right there in your larder or cooler.
