Here’s How To Create An All-White Tablescape With Layers and Textures

While it may sound boring, an all-white tablescape can be anything but boring! By using this shade, you can create a stunning and dramatic look that will ‘wow’ guests and set the tone of the evening. It’s also a wonderful depiction of clean lines and a refreshed space. In fact, by using different shades of white and textures of table linens, creating an all-white tablescape can be truly magical.

Tone it up: When designing the tablescape, be sure to decide on several winter white tones. Yes, there are lots of different variations to white, including eggshell, vanilla, cream, pure white, bright white, seashell and so many more. Decide on which tones speak to you the most and then map out your design. Do you want to use a bright white tablecloth and then layer in an eggshell runner? Or is vanilla as a base more your style with bright white napkins? From there, it is easy to start building your table.

A Touch Of Texture: Now that a color scheme has been decided, it’s time to figure out how to layer in some texture for a visual effect that will “wow” your guests. One of the best ways to do this is by using different styles of linens. For example, use Solino Home’s Classic Hemstitch as a tablecloth and add Contempo in natural and white as a runner. From there, use Fringe in light natural as napkins and viola! You have a monochromatic tablescape that is anything but boring.

Other Tonal Touches: Now that the table is created, it’s time to set it! In keeping with the theme, use white plates. If you’re serving multiple courses, layer the dinner plate, appetizer plate and salad bowl in different shades of white or use dinnerware with patterns in the same shades to keep interest. Add metallic flatware for a pop of fun and choose glassware with a matching metallic rim or accent. Or, go the extra mile with frosted glassware, keeping the theme! Use white florals, feathers, or mix-and-match candles in different shades of white as centerpieces, creating glamour and elegance.
