Fun Tips For Creating A Tablescape That Reflects Your Identity

There are some of us that love a matchy-matchy vibe. And then there are others who love to mix color, patterns and even styles. However, sometimes it may be difficult to match your personal style to a dinner party occasion. But, one shouldn’t be afraid of letting their personality do the talking - especially on the table! Here are several ways to make blending vision, character and occasion easy to do, with beautiful results.

French Stripe Placemats

Mix-and-Match: Are you a lover of a bold statement? Or do you prefer vintage vibes? Either way, mixing and matching tableware is a great way to show off what you love. But, it can be tricky to make this work! If you’re looking for a subtle way to be playful, try keeping tableware in the same color, but mix square and round plates for some fun. Or, you can spice it up with a wood and metal combination, bringing in the Earth tones that continue to trend. Another way to get this trend right is to use floral plates with the same pattern in different colors, creating an element of surprise and delight for each guest.

Go Wild With Flatware: While flatware may not be the first thing that catches the eye on a tablescape, using flatware is a great way to make a statement without being over-the-top. Instead of traditional silver or gold, try matte black; rose gold; or even have a little fun with iridescent forks and knives.

Cabana Stripe Black and White Table Runner

Layer Up: It may be standard to use a runner atop a tablecloth when creating the perfect tablescape. However, layering up in a bit of a different way can create a more visually interesting table and can give you more chances to show off who you are, too. For example, adorn your table with a tablecloth and then place runners horizontally across instead of down the center. Use different shades of the same colorway; alternate two completely different colors; or mix and match solids and patterns for a unique look all your own.
